Drilling Hydraulics Integrity SPA
A Drilling Hydraulics Integrity SPA (available for Azerbaijani citizens only) to join our onshore team at Turan Drilling & Engineering, based in Azerbaijan.
Key details about the role and the candidate
The Drilling Hydraulics Integrity SPA will act as the single point of accountability for all hydraulic system cases, ensuring reliability, compliance, and technical support for drilling operations, requiring strong expertise in hydraulic systems and 5–10 years of oil & gas experience.
You and the role
In this position, you will provide critical technical guidance, liaise with OEMs and internal teams, and mentor engineers, directly contributing to the safe and efficient operation of hydraulics drilling across the business unit.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide breakdown support including NPT and non-NPT events
- Creation and maintenance of hydraulic system case work process.
- Provide clear accountability and a single point-of-contact for the hydraulic system case process
- Leads, directs, coordinates, and prioritizes duties to his subordinates on a daily basis, ensuring they are working on the priorities that align with our company’s and our customer’s needs.
- Direct communication OEM regarding hydraulic system operation, maintenance, and support.
- Close liaison with Systems Integrity, BP RET, OEMs and vendors.
- Close cooperation and working relations with the Maintenance Superintendent, coordinating on maintenance issues.
- Working within the overall framework of the BP eMoC system to ensure compliance at all stages.
- Assist in ensuring that all field hydraulic drilling systems are maintained, repaired promptly, investigate defects, and submit reports as required.
- Review eMoC specific to drilling hydraulic systems.
- Assist in the review of spares across the fleet to ensure that an adequate supply of field drilling hydraulic spare parts is maintained on each installation, in the warehouse or held by the Vendor.
- Create, review, and maintain corporate approved hydraulic process and guideline.
- Assist in the compilation and maintenance of the hydraulic asset register and hydraulic component obsolescence Register.
- Supervise & assign the preventive maintenance and regular maintenance / repair of equipment
- Mentoring / Training of Hydraulic Engineers.
Experience
- 5-10 years’ experience in drilling / Oil & Gas industry / or similar.
Behaviour and Skills
- High level of spoken and written English.
- Microsoft Office, Project.
Minimum Qualifications
- CAD experience
- Suitable technical qualifications – Higher National Diploma or similar.
- Proven understanding of Hydraulic System technologies, principles, and knowledge of automated systems.

Upstream Control of Work Specialist
Who we are looking for
An Upstream Control of Work Specialist (available for Azerbaijani citizens only) to join our onshore team at Turan Drilling & Engineering, based in Azerbaijan.
Key details about the role and the candidate
The Upstream Control of Work Specialist is responsible for sustaining and ensuring consistent application of the Upstream Control of Work process across drilling operations through auditing, coaching, training, and mentoring, requiring proven experience as an Offshore Area Authority or extensive knowledge of the CoW process.
You and the role
In this role, you will act as the regional Wells SPA, provide day-to-day operational support, conduct audits and competency assessments, and drive safe, compliant, and effective Control of Work practices across all platforms.
Primary responsibilities
- Act as the regional Wells SPA for all Upstream Control of Work issues.
- Interface with the Central GWO Control of Work team.
- Interface with the regional GOO /SOR Control of Work teams.
- Drive all CoW related concerns /issues raised by Wells Operations to successful resolution in coordination with GOO/SOR and GWO Control of Work focal point.
- Provide day-today Control of Work support to the AGT Wells operations.
- Conduct evaluations and provide feedback, which will include opportunities for quality improvement in revisions and in development of future documents, to the KCA Deutag Area Authorities on Permits, Task Risk Assessments (TRA), Isolation – De-isolation Plans (IDP) and Risk Assessed Procedures (RAP).
- Conduct offshore audits of the Upstream Control of Work process to ensure compliance.
- Coach and assess Drilling Contractors’ and Service Providers’ Performing Authorities including hands on training with the Control of Work system, e.g. preparation of dummy permits).
- Interface with the third-party contractors onshore in preparing their Performing Authorities prior to deployment and enforcing use of the Performing Authority Readiness Checklist.
- Conduct formal Competency Assessments of Area Authorities and Performing Authorities as required by the Upstream Control of Work procedure.
- Provide coaching and support to Area Authorities where required.
- Maintain AGT Wells Control of Work Authorization Register.
- Ensure regular updating of Risk Assessed Procedures (RAPs) working in cooperation with Wells Ops technical specialists.
- Provide support to or participate in Control of Work-related incident investigations.
- Perform trend analysis of Control of Work-related data from eWells and LFIs.
- Provide Control of Work input into the regional SORC meetings.
- Develop platform specific sustainable Control of Work Champions.
- Support the development of TRA Facilitators to ensure effective Level 2 TRAs are created.
- May be required to cover the role of the KCA Deutag Area Authority on a temporary basis.
- May be required to carry out other duties not specifically mentioned above.
- Ensure compliance with the Upstream Control of Work procedure.
- Carry out competence assessment KCA Deutag Area Authorities and Performing Authorities as well as third Party Service Company Performing Authorities.
- Become competent in their discipline.
- Report, as and when appropriate, performance issues including high standards of work and / or sub-standard performance.
Experience
- The individual should have experience as either an Offshore Area Authority in the Upstream Control of Work process or have extensive knowledge of the Upstream Control of Work process through a coaching/ implementation role for Upstream Control of Work process.
Behaviour and Skills
- Fluent English language skills.
- Demonstrate Safety leadership through:
– Completing and recording both Task and Area audits.
– Participation in safety observation process at a supervisory level.
Minimum Qualifications
- The individual should have satisfactorily completed all the training requirements for an Area Authority required by the Upstream Control of Work process.
