Lead Legal Counsel
Requirements:
– Higher legal education;
– Bachelor and/or Master of law degree obtained in a common law jurisdiction (e.g. UK, USA) is considered as advantage, but is not mandatory;
– At least 7 years of work experience in the specialty;
– At least 4 years of work experience in the oil and gas industry;
– Work experience at international companies is considered as advantage, but is not mandatory;
– English (upper-intermediate);
– Knowledge of the specifics of contracts governed by English law;
– Knowledge of the contract standards of the oil and gas industry;
– Knowledge of the specifics of the corporate legislation of the country where the Operator is present, as well as its counterparties;
– Knowledge of the features of multi-jurisdictional and cross-border transactions;
– Knowledge of the specifics of the legislation of international organizations and supranational institutions, as well as legislation with extraterritorial effect, applicable to the oil and gas industry;
– Skills for drafting contractual documents;
– Organization and negotiation skills;
– Skills of verification of authenticity of submitted documents of legal entities on external features.
Responsibility:
– Minimization of legal risks for the Operator when concluding Contracts;
– Conformity of concluded Contracts with the applicable legislation, basic legal documents of the Operator and corporate standards;
– Examination of the Contracts on time;
– Minimization of legal risks for the Operator when executing structured deals related to Operator’s production, procurement, commercial and financial activities;
– Conformity of concluded Contracts with the applicable legislation, basic legal documents of the Operator and corporate standards;
– Number of legal opinions of the Operator’s deals’ structure up to 4 per year;
– Minimization of legal risks of the Operator during procurement procedures (by legal assessment of potential counterparties), preparation of Contracts included in the packages of the Operator’s procurement documentation, as well as negotiations with potential counterparties;
– Examination of submitted documents on time.

Requirements:

– Relevant working experience – not less than 8 years;
– Leadership-related experience – not less than 3 years;

– Skills in claims procedures, litigations and arbitrations;
– Managerial skills;
