About the job
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the offshore Jack up fleet bridge Officers and client with Marine related matters including but not limited to rig moves, positioning, location evaluations and logistic matters..
- Champion and mentor a strong industry leading safety culture.
- Ensure that any deficiencies that arise be immediately rectified and reported to Client as required.
- Responsible for all Barge certification to be current and up-dated as necessary.
- Assist technical department with coordination of 3rd party vendors for offshore works.
- Monitor and enforce compliance to Saudi Aramco Marine Operations Manual & Loss Prevention Program.
- Complete Quarterly vessel audits and participate in Saudi Aramco on hire surveys as required.
- Oversee all other necessary activities to enhance efficiency and safe operation of the jack up fleet.
Minimum Requirements:
- 4 years’ experience (sea services) as a Master on Self-Propelled Jack Up Barges (SPJU)
- COC/STWC
- University Marine/Maritime
- Seaman Book
- Maritime Experience

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure proper allocation of available resources to complete technical work list and make it sure that the barge’s defects are corrected in a timely manner.
- Conduct frequent inspection of all instrumentation, automation, and the condition of hull and machinery spaces of all barges based on the maintenance and repair standards.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Department the procurement of spare parts, services, lubricating oil in order to avoid delay in maintenance.
- Ensure all Engine Officers are familiar with the operation of their barges, areas of operation, procedures and requirements in order to maintain safety and efficient operations of the barges.
- Check and evaluate maintenance progress of the barges and submit findings to the Fleet Maintenance and Technical Supervisor.
- Ensure that policies and procedures regarding safety and pollution are followed by workshop personnel to avoid accident and environment violation.
- Provide assistance in the incident investigation in order to provide technical corrective actions and risk mitigation on reported problems, defects, deficiencies, and non-conformances which have a potential impact on quality, safety, environment and equipment.
- Maintain copies of ship’s drawing, engineering manuals, guidelines, part books and operational related records.
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- 4 years’ experience (sea services) as a Chief Engineer on Self-Propelled Jack Up Barges (SPJU)
